faces breathing in crusts.”
CHAPTER 11 . LIVING THE DREAM FARM, CLAYTON, WISCONSIN . Khaiti & Andrew
That’s me! with a baby goat (kid). Can you see the joy in my eyes, to have that sweet milky smelling soft pink nosey mama needing bundle. Lots of baby goats running around. Khaiti & Andrew moved last Fall which was a very big project. They constructed new accommodations for all the animals; no easy feat. With so much more land at this location, they are happy to provide room and forage for happier animals.
MORNING GLORY FARM, HUGO, MINNESOTA
Baby Sheep everywhere at Morning Glory. The lambs normally are born and raised on pasture, but this year, Spring came late and the babes are in the barn for warmth. That’s me again…this time I’ve got my arms wrapped around a lamb…soft, gentle and curious.
GREEN THUMB FARM, STOCKTON, MISSOURI . Linda & Neil
South of Minnesota and Wisconsin, Spring was late and cold in Missouri too. Linda started some plants in the greenhouse.
MUSKRAT FARM, STILLWATER, MINNESOTA
At Muskrat, we use natural treatment free methods with the bees – no medications or chemicals of any kind. One hive was so large, the bees instinctively created a new colony, they divided into two colonies from large one. This colony split off and swarmed to a tree, where Laurie & Lorna captured the swarm and moved them to a second hivebox as their new home.
“Last Night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt —- marvelous error!
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white comb
and sweet honey
from my old failures.”
