10th Street is a mother-daughter operation. They made a leap of faith a few years back and installed moveable greenhouses. The greenhouse can be pushed back and forth from one patch of land to another on a sort of railroad track. They produce micro greens and other produce all year long for their CSA and specialty markets.
Laurie Schneider is a visual storyteller whose portrait and documentary projects invite viewers to take a closer look at sustainable living.
Laurie has been producing award-winning images for 25 years. Her background is in photojournalism, portraiture and fine art. She specializes in assignment and special project work that involves story development, animals, people, events and farm to table. Her images evoke the true nature of people as well as touchstones in their lives. She captures the charm of animals and the authentic nature of sustainable farming. And she provides stock photos as well as commissioned book and fine art projects.
When she is not clicking the shutter, Laurie is riding horses or rescuing honeybees. She believes all creatures from the tiniest wild bee to the grandest lion deserve respect and a happy life, and she is proud to be a steward of the land.
